Congratulations to Chigozie Obioma on electrifying The London Book Fair with his debut novel, THE FISHERMEN! UK editor (Elena Lappin), agent (Jessica Craig), and US editor (Judy Clain), pictured above in the IRC, are proud to be launching this 27-year-old Nigerian’s international literary career. Thrilling pre-empts happened on Day 1 with Olivier Cohen/Editions de l’Olivier (France) and Little, Brown (North America).  We ended the fair with a Portuguese (Brazil) pre-empt from Globo.  A German auction began at the fair and continues into a second week.  Italians are starting to offer.  The ONE imprint of Pushkin Press and now also Little, Brown US will publish THE FISHERMEN as a lead novel in early 2015.  Soon there will be many more publishers sharing excitement for THE FISHERMEN all over the world!

Very exciting.
